Artist & Teacher

Hi there, I’m Nicole, I’m the artist, maker and head teacher of Nicole is Nicole Ceramics. Basically I’m just a muddy creative who loves to share this blissful world of pottery with you.
I started making pottery in 2016 when my husband and I finally found our home on the Fleurieu Peninsula. It started as a way to meet people in our new community and as a creative outlet from all of the change happening in our lives, but as soon as I sat at a pottery wheel I fell deep, deep in love. And down the rabbit hole I went…

Now I get to spend my typical work day covered in pretty mud, using ancient making techniques and creating pottery that will likely be around long after I’ve left this world. It’s pretty humbling and completely remarkable.

I enjoy making functional ceramics like mugs, cups, kitchen and dining ware and I love seeing my work be used by people to make their day brighter.

I started teaching pottery classes in 2019 because there was no one else in the area offering this amazing experience.

I wanted to create a space where people could come and build a community, connect with the earth and express themselves.

Clay is just a gorgeous mud, what matters is what we do with it and how we use it to connect with ourselves, our community and our nature.

I’m Nicole, and this is my mark on the world.
