In this two week course you will learn the skills to make a set of two hand built mugs from beginning through to glazing!
The two sessions will be held a week apart to allow for the mugs to be dried and fired in the kiln in preparation for glazing.
Course is suitable for all skill levels including beginners!
Session One: Make some new clay-covered friends and relax with some cheese, wine, tea or coffee.
I will teach you the skills to make your very own set of two mugs! This includes an introduction to pottery and clay properties, assembling the mugs and attaching the handles.
(Session One date: Sunday 10th Oct 3pm)
Session Two: A week later, your mugs have been slowly dried and fired in the kiln to allow for us to glaze them. There are multiple techniques for glazing mugs and we will have fun exploring them to make the mugs colourful, watertight and food safe!
We’ll enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine together after the glazing session to celebrate our new skills, friends and finished mugs!
(Session Two date: Sunday 17th Oct 3pm)
After the second session, your mugs will be fired in the kiln a second time to cure the glaze. They will be ready for collection 2-4 weeks after the course finishes.
